The Addams Family Welcome Night

The Addams Family Launch Night

Make 8th January a date in your diary as we are looking for the creepy and the kooky, mysterious and spooky to gather at the launch of our 2024 musical – The Addams Family.

Hundreds of years ago, the Addams family ancestors came from the old country and settled on a plot of land in what is now New York’s Central Park. This was, of course, long before it was a park, when it was still wilderness. The family flourished for many generations, and eventually, a huge house was built where a great Spanish oak, the Addams Family Tree, had been planted to protect the ancestral graves from such annoyances as sunlight and tourists.

THE ADDAMS FAMILY, a comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family, features an original story and it’s every father’s nightmare: Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family– a man her parents have never met. And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before– keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

There are a fantastic selection of roles available which require a fantastic cast to fill them. Could that be you? Turn up and find out the details and meet the creative team

Keep an eye out on our website and social media for more information following the launch night!

The Production Team:
Director – Jane Tudor
Musical Director – Ed Rugman
Choreographer – Lorna Cookson

They will tell you all about the ooky mass of ideas they have, the parts available and all about the audition process. The production runs at Preston Playhouse from 19th-22nd June – rehearsals are Mondays and Thursdays. There are some workshops planned which will be shared at the Welcome Event – so whether you are a Fester or a Morticia, a Grandma, a Pugsley, a Lurch or a Gomez, a Wednesday, a Beineke or an ancestor join us and Thing to find out more….it’ll be a scream!

Can’t make the launch night? Do not worry! All of the frequently asked questions and show information will be available here on our website after the night concludes!

Playhouse Auditorium Refurbishment Fundraiser

The Playhouse Needs Our Help

Preston Playhouse Theatre Auditorium Refurbishment Fundraiser

The Preston Playhouse Theatre are currently fundraising for this year’s summer works major project – the redecoration of the Auditorium.
The Playhouse has been our Pantomime home for many years, as well as for some musicals, revues, concerts, and more! Without it, we wouldn’t be able to entertain Preston as we have been since 1954.
As the Theatre enters it’s 75th Anniversary, the Board of Trustees have decided to opt for the full redecoration of the auditorium with repairs as necessary with the objective of enhancing Preston Playhouse as a vibrant artistic space
To donate, and for more information, you can visit the Fundraising page hosted on Spacehive
