It’s hard to believe that there are only 4 weeks to go until opening night. When a show starts rehearsing it always feels like there is forever before show week but before you know it the weeks have flown by! I always enjoy working with the principals and chorus watching the characters come alive in front of your eyes. I’m always amazed by watching the cast transform themselves into their characters; switching effortlessly from their fantastic Lancashire accents into a New York drawl with personalities to match.
At the moment we are working on polishing the musical numbers with the choreography so that we are word, note and movement perfect! This company have worked so hard and have been really focused in rehearsals so we have made great progress! Last week we were rehearsing the most famous chorus number from ‘Guys and Doll’s ‘Sit Down You’re Rockin the Boat’ – it’s a real musical and dance tour de force – even with five weeks to go this number is already making my hairs stand on end!
It’s been a lot of fun working on Guys and Dolls with such a fantastic team. From what I’m seeing and hearing I know that the show is really going to rock - just like the song says! Looking forward to seeing you in the Charter Theatre, Preston from Wednesday September 14th through to Saturday 17th.
